With 68 votes in favor, 55 against and 9 abstentions, the Parliament bans bullfighting in Catalonia, accepting Popular Legislative Initiative (ILP) endorsed with the signature of 180,000 citizens.
In support of the ILP has been ERC and ICV-EUiA, and against the PP and Citizens. CiU and PSC gave a free vote, the first bent mainly by the Self, and most of the Socialists by No.La law will come into force on January 1, 2012, and converted to Catalonia in the second community English autonomous state in which shall be prohibited bullfights, the first was the Canaries, which banned it in 1991.
